Updates Coming to Chorus America's 2024 Awards Program
Chorus America is making a series of updates to our awards program in order to align Chorus America's awards with our mission and vision as defined by the FY 2023-2025 Strategic Plan. These updates are based on recommendations from a task force convened by Chorus America’s board over the past year.
As a first step, two former awards will transition to grants (see our High Notes blog post for full details):
- The Dale Warland Singers Commission Grant, formerly the Dale Warland Singers Commission Award, will continue to support the creation of new choral music with a focus on funding future work rather than recognizing past achievement. Applications for this grant will open on October 2 and close on November 17.
- The Alice Parker Fund Award will also transition to a grant program, consistent with Parker’s intent to support the composition and thoughtful presentation of choral music based in the traditions of Black and Latinx communities. This grant opportunity for individuals will begin accepting applications for the 2025 grant cycle.
We look forward to sharing more details about awards updates as we prepare to open award applications this November. In the meantime, see information about our 2023 award winners and historic awards program below.
