Conducting Workshop

CONDUCTING WORKSHOP with HARRY CHRISTOPHERS:
Friday, June 19, 2015 – 1:30PM-4:15PM

Chorus America will present a special conducting workshop with Harry Christophers, artistic director of the Handel and Haydn Society (H+H) on Friday, June 19 from 1:30pm-4:15pm at Reflection Hall at the Christian Science Center. Conference delegates are invited to observe this master teacher coach emerging professional conductors.

Six fellows will have the opportunity to work with Christophers and a small ensemble from the H+H Chorus on selections from Messiah, including:

  • And the glory of the Lord
  • And he shall purify
  • For unto us a child is born
  • Behold the Lamb of God
  • All we like sheep
  • Amen

APPLICATION INFORMATION

PARTICIPATION FEE
Selected fellows need to be registered for the Conference ($425).  This fee guarantees the “member” early-bird registration rate as decisions will be made well after the early-bird deadline.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be at least 22 years old by June 19, 2015.
  • Applicants must be an individual member of Chorus America or be an employee or board member of an organizational-member chorus of Chorus America.
  • Applicant must be “early-career” and have an ensemble that they work with regularly.

A completed application and letter of recommendation must be received by Friday, April 3, 2015.  Applicants will be notified by Friday, May 8, 2015.
